Dr. Zhirong Yang joined Norwegian Open AI Lab and the Department of Computer Science at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) as a full professor starting from 2018. He also works as a Finnish Academy Research Fellow at Aalto University, Finland. His research interests include machine learning, information visualization, deep neural networks, and statistical learning with applications to structural data. He has been Master of Expert at Nordea Bank (publ), Finland and Senior researcher at University of Helsinki, Research Fellow. He is a PC member for many prestigious conferences such as NIPS, ICML, AAAI, ICLR, as well as reviewers for many top journals such as TPAMI, JMLR, TNNLS, etc.
